Cleaver-Brooks Ohio Special Boiler

The Ohio Special firetube design is unique to the state of Ohio to meet the state regulations. It enables unattended boiler room operation for a unit with less than 360 square feet of heating surface.

The complete boiler package includes the pressure vessel, burner and controls with options for low NOx control.

Cleaver-Brooks ClearFire-H (horizontal design)

ClearFire-H steam boilers are quiet, compact and available in ten sizes. They utilize AluFerⓇ tubes with fireside extended heating surface to provide maximum heat transfer. Save on fuel with full burner modulation, high turndown with variable speed motor.

With no dampers or moving linkages, boiler operation is reliable and maintenance is simplified. Cleaver-Brooks stocks many models of ClearFire boilers for quick shipment.

Size range: 10 HP – 80 HP 

Uses: For comfort heat and process applications for schools, commercial buildings, apartments and decentralized facilities.

Cleaver-Brooks Steam Firetube Boilers

The firetube boiler is the flagship of Cleaver-Brooks. An integrated boiler, low NOx burner and Hawk Advanced control were designed and built with the latest innovations in technology for maximum efficiency and lowest emissions. EX system models are designed with extended heat transfer tubes that result in a higher efficiency, lower emissions and a 15% smaller footprint.

The CBEX Elite model is the only boiler package to maintain 3% oxygen across the full operating range with 30 ppm NOx performance when using natural gas. Further reduce fuel usage with a stack economizer by recovering waste heat from the flue gases and using it to preheat boiler feedwater.

Size range: 15 – 2,200 HP  

Uses: For reliable response for low/high-pressure process steam/heating loads, multiple fuel firing capability. Applications include indirect heating and process for various campus operations, medical facilities, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing operations.

From the Steam-Ready line to custom watertube boilers to OSSG boiler and more, Cleaver-Brooks has extensive experience with large steam boilers – no job is too large.

Every aspect of these industrial watertube systems are designed for maximum efficiency, reliability, low emissions and available shop assembled.

Types: D, A, O and external drum-types

Size range: 10,000 lbs/hr to 500,000 lbs/hr

Uses: Central steam plant and industrial process loads. Typical in hospitals, power and utilities and refineries.

Cleaver-Brooks Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs)

HRSGs are state-of-the-art customized, packaged heat-recovery steam generators with gas turbines from 1MW to 95 MW. Applications include heat recovery for turbines, waste heat, incinerators, economizers and air heaters.

These custom solutions are engineered from a single-source to ensure the highest quality output in the 1-15 MW turbine market.

Types: MaxFire, MaxFlow, Slant-VC, Modular, Waste Heat boilers

Size range: 10,000 to 1,000,000 lbs/hr

Uses: Central steam plant, industrial process loads and building heat. Applications include co-gen systems, combined cycle systems, turbine exhaust, gas & diesel engine exhaust, incinerators, and process gas cooling.

Steam Accumulators

A steam accumulator is a pressure vessel (or tank) with internals and controls, that can reduce the fuel consumption, maintenance costs and increase the service life of your boiler by stabilizing the steam draw conditions, but it cannot make up for shortcomings in total boiler capacity. The accumulator acts as a flywheel or capacitor, storing energy for short periods until the process requires it. 

Large load swings frequently cause boilers to shut down because the system thinks it won’t be able to meet short term steam demands. When this happens, personnel must get involved to rectify the disruption in operations which leads to higher maintenance costs. By incorporating a Steam Accumulator, you can ensure smooth boiler operations with lower maintenance costs.

Watertube Boilers

Whether stand-alone, or paired with a condensing solution, the FLX model boilers can share the load to increase efficiency in a hydronic or steam process.

The FLX is designed to handle to minimize thermal stress and provide quick response in a compact unit – field erectable units are also an option. it’s easy to incorporate the FLX into a new or existing boiler system.

Size range: 35-600 HP (1,500 – 25,000 MBTU/hr)

Uses: For rapid response for low or high-temperature pressure heating, back up fuel oil and field erectable. Applications include heating for universities, medical facilities, office complexes and process applications such as manufacturing, food processing and pharmaceuticals.

Fuels: #2 fuel oil and gaseous fuels

Pressure: 15 to 150 psig

Electric Boilers

From the high-voltage CEJS electrode boiler with capacities of up to 188,000 lb/hr down to the vertical and horizontal-type electric boilers with capacities as low as 31 lb/hr.  Cleaver-Brooks electric boilers are clean, compact, quiet, easy to install and have no venting or fuel requirements.

With no combustion considerations, electric boilers are an ideal alternative where emissions regulations are a concern.  The units typically include operating controls, elements, fuses, contactors, safety valve and instrumentation.  

Heating power: 31 lb/hr to 188,000 lb/hr 

Pressure: 15, 150, 200 & 250 PSIG

Uses: High and low pressure steam applications like garment pressing, medical sterilizers, steam rooms, air humidification and more

Non Condensing

Great for systems requiring high operational temperatures or pressures and/or fuel flexibility that preclude the use of condensing technology. Our non-condensing line offers operating efficiencies up to 88% and can be integrated into any system design.

Cleaver-Brooks ClearFire-CE

A compact, fully condensing high-mass hydronic boiler capable of variable-flow pumping, allowing for maximum operating efficiency in a variety of applications. The fireside heating surfaces utilizes industry leading AluFer® tubes for superior efficiencies.

The dual-return connections have the ability to increase condensing in the boiler and raise efficiencies by 6%+ more than a single-return boiler.

Size range: 500 MBTU – 6,000 MBTU
